Complete Lockout

By default, tapping Forgot Passcode lets you reset your Screen Time passcode with your Apple Account password, so you can bypass your own app limits any time. Complete Lockout fixes that.

How it works

  1. 1
Create a second Apple Account Create a new Apple Account at account.apple.com to use only for Screen Time recovery. WaitToUnlock generates a strong password for this account.
  2. 2
Lock away the password Store the new Apple Account password in WaitToUnlock. Like your Screen Time passcode, it's encrypted before it's stored and locked away until the waiting period ends.
  3. 3
Use it for Screen Time recovery During guided passcode set up, WaitToUnlock temporarily reveals the password so you can enter it as your Screen Time recovery account. Once setup is complete, the password is locked again.

Enter your recovery Apple Account at this stage to close the password reset loophole.
  4. 4
You are completely locked out If you tap Forgot Passcode, Apple asks for the password to your recovery Apple Account. Because you don't know it, you can't immediately reset your Screen Time passcode.

When you decide to unlock, WaitToUnlock reveals both your Screen Time passcode and your recovery account password after the same waiting period. The recovery account password is protected using the same encryption as your Screen Time passcode.
